On 25th December, 2014, I was very happy that I was finally ordering my first ever smartphone (Nexus 5) from D880.com at a comparatively cheaper price of only Rs. 19,700. The phone was delivered on the New Year's Day. I found the box of the phone quite old looking but however the phone was working fine and so I didn't bother much and started to use it after I formally made complaint regarding the box.
After a month the back panel of the phone started to pop out and so I took the phone to LG Service Centre where the technician surprised me by telling that the phone was with US IMEI number. I quickly called the Customer Care to either replace the phone or refund the amount since I wanted an Indian IMEI number phone so that I won't have any warranty issues in future. The guy on the other side asked me to ship the phone to them and assured me that they would take necessary actions.
Fast forward to 10 days and I did not receive any call from them. Being a 'customer' I called 'customer care' and stated the whole issue again. I was told to have patience and that they are looking into the issue. Likewise, I had called them a number of times and as always I was turned down saying that they are 'looking into it'.
45 days passed and my patience finally gave up. I called them up for the last time warning them to either replace/refund or that I'm going to file a consumer case against them. After a few days I made a notice and sent it via registered post. It took just 2 days that their escalation department called me to negotiate on non filling of case.
I received many calls from them saying not to file the case and also that they could only make 60% refund. Till this time I had made my mind either to receive full refund or file the case and I made my point to them very clear on this.
On 60th day day I had a mail asking for the bank details. On 62nd day, I had Rs. 19,700 back in my account. Soooo…it took 2 months to for them to 'look on the issue'.
So, a very plain and simple answer from my side is NO, though they offer products at cheaper rate but the thing is that you can't really get to understand the quality of the product unless and until you get the product in hand. Once you get it and if the product is really not upto the mark then you may have to suffer like I suffered. Their Customer Service is bad and i mean really bad. Don't trust them.
